11 November is Singles Day. Our take: you don't need a +1 to do something you've wanted for a long time.
“Should I bring someone?”
We get that question regularly.
“Should I bring someone to my piercing appointment?”
No.
You may.
But you absolutely don't have to.
In fact:
some people walk in with three friends…
and five minutes later they're more nervous than when they were alone.
“You can do this!”
“Don't look!”
“It really doesn't hurt!”
“It did hurt for me.”
Perfect.
Thanks, everyone.
And then someone walks in alone.
Sits down.
Picks her piercing.
Takes one deep breath.
Done.
Singles Day is officially about being single.
But today we're making it something else.
You don't have to wait for someone to do something you've wanted for a long time.
No girlfriend.
No partner.
No group that has to come along.
Just you.
Your ear.
And probably one of us saying:
“Don't move.”
Some decisions don't need a +1 at all.
