A gift you can't wrap
Today is National Make a Gift Day.
A day when you're supposed to make something for someone yourself.
We make something for people every day.
It's just hard to put it in wrapping paper afterwards.
A piercing.
A combination of jewellery.
An ear that is slowly rebuilt from scratch.
Technically, we make it together with the client.
We do the piercing.
But they choose why.
And that last part is often the most interesting.
A birthday.
A fresh start.
A memory.
Or simply:
“I've wanted this for ten years.”
No big story.
That's fine too.
Not every gift has to be deep.
Sometimes “I just think it looks nice” is an excellent reason.
But whatever you give someone:
the best gifts are usually the ones where you know:
this really suits you.
And if it doesn't fit in wrapping paper?
Then at least that's one less thing to wrap.
