Not every piercing works on every ear, however much you want it. Your anatomy decides what sits nicely and heals well. That’s why we always look at your ear first.
The Piercings Works ear project
With our ear project we plan your look together with you: what’s possible, what suits you and in what order. That way you avoid disappointment and end up with a curated ear that really works.
How many ear piercings can I get at once?
We start with a maximum of 3 piercings. Once those are healed properly, we add the next ones. That way your body isn’t healing too much at once and you can still sleep on at least one side.
How long does healing take?
That depends on the spot: earlobes take around 6 to 8 weeks, cartilage like a helix, conch or industrial usually 6 to 9 months or more. So patience is key ;) Read more in our ultimate guide to ear piercings.
Please note: all times mentioned are an indication. Healing is very personal: for some people it goes faster, for others it takes a little longer.
Aftercare for multiple ear piercings
Clean all piercings twice a day with the AphraHeals wipe (our favourite: practical, sterile and safe) or the AphraHeals spray, don’t sleep on them and keep hair, headphones and hats away for a while.
If your piercing stays inflamed or becomes inflamed, contact your piercer or a doctor.
Want to keep it easy? Spray the AphraHeals aftercare spray on all your fresh ear piercings twice a day. On the go, at school, at work or while travelling, the AphraHeals cleansing wipes are super handy: a quick dab and done. AphraHeals is salt-based and made for piercings only, not for tattoos.
For a fresh piercing titanium is the very best. Gold is possible too, but we usually go for a titanium bar with a gold top. Our gold jewellery has a titanium internal thread, and in the studio we work with internally threaded jewellery: safer, because no thread scrapes through your fresh hole. Can I get both ears pierced on the same day?
Yes. We do plan it so you can still sleep comfortably.
Does a helix hurt?
A helix doesn’t hurt much. Most people find it very doable.
Can I mix titanium and gold in my stack?
Totally! A titanium bar with a gold top is a favourite.
