It is very important to protect your tattoo’s from the sun!

The better you take care of them, the longer they will look good.
If you have recently gotten a new tattoo, it’s advised to avoid the sun completely.
When you expose your tattoo to the sun, chances are it will heal poorly and colors may fade. Apart from this, it can be painful to go in the sun with a fresh tattoo.
Pain is a warning signal and it’s important to listen to your body.

A new tattoo will take about two weeks to heal but this varies per person and depends of the place of the tattoo. We advise you to stay out of the sun until your tattoo is healed completely.

For some people it will be impossible to stay out of the sun. It is important to think about where you want to get a tattoo and when you will have this done. For example, a back tattoo will be easier to cover up than a tattoo on the wrist. Wear concealing clothing or stay in the shade.

If you really need to be outside in the sun and covering up your tattoo is impossible, make sure you cover your skin with a thick layer of sunscreen.

When your tattoo is fully healed, you’ll probably want to be in the sun again. But even then it’s important to be cautious. Always use sunscreen, because the better you take care of your tattoo(’s), the longer you will enjoy them.
